Withdrawing from a Course
If you are looking to withdraw from a course, please keep in mind the Langley Education Centre’s Withdraw Policy.
Students must withdraw before completing a set number of weeks or a certain amount of course work as detailed below.
- Fall Session: before 4 weeks
- Winter Session: before 4 weeks
- Spring Session: before 2 weeks
- Self-Paced: complete 5% or more of the course work
To withdraw from a course, please contact your teacher or Langley Education Centre administrator by phone, email, or in person.
Students withdrawing after the deadline will be issued a final mark at the end of the session. However, marks below a passing grade will not appear on a ministry transcript.
Refunds
Fee paying students in structured or blended classes qualify for a full refund up until the start date of classes. For self-directed courses, students can be refunded before becoming active (completing 5% of course material) minus a $25 processing fee.
Once classes have started, structured and blended course students can be refunded minus a $25 processing fee.
However, following the date of the second class, or after completing 5% of course material for self-directed courses, no refunds will be issued. Instead, students may choose to defer their fees, once only, to another available class or self-paced course up to one year from the date of payment. Self-directed courses may also choose to defer their course, once only, for up to a year.
